The Packard Music Hall is a multi-purpose auditorium/theater hosting and supporting a wide variety of performances and events throughout the year. With more than 125 annual events, the Music Hall is committed to entertaining, educating, and enriching our community through its rental and support of special, civic, and cultural events. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, overseeing and assisting in all technical aspects supporting main stage and non-staged events at the Music Hall; scheduling and leading stage crews (both IATSE and non-union), interns, and volunteers; and assisting in the setup, maintenance, inventory, security, modification and operation of all stage equipment and systems. Must possess a strong commitment to safety and have good interpersonal and team building skills. When not directly involved in the technical support of events, duties include labor and semi-skilled work in the maintenance, repair, and basic operation of the building to ensure a safe, clean and well maintained facility. Other duties include housekeeping, physical conversions, general event support, assisting food & beverage operations, and related work as assigned. BA in Theatre or three to five years of technical theater experience or an equivalent combination of education and live event experience is preferred; a knowledge of and experience with sophisticated sound, lighting, and stage rigging systems is required; the ability to read and design lighting plots and a familiarity with the various types of theatre lighting instruments and their use combined with the experience to design, hang, and focus stage lighting for show applications is necessary. Experience in sound transmission & amplification, microphone use, monitor mixing, sound board operation, and mixing sound for live events is necessary. A thorough knowledge of electricity is required. Some knowledge of, or experience in, semi-skilled maintenance & cleaning for building operations is preferred; must have the ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. While performing duties of this job, employees must frequently lift and/or move up to 65 pounds, climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, talk and hear. Work schedule will vary to meet the needs of the operation and will include long irregular hours, many evenings & weekends, and some holidays. Prevailing hourly rate is $16.13/hour plus benefits, which includes a great health care package, public employee’s retirement system, holidays, sick, personal, bereavement, and vacation leave. Residency is a requirement and, once hired, the individual must reside in the City of Warren, Ohio.
