Pre production from December 2006. “Hands on” from February 2007 thru beginning of June 2007. Requirements: · Candidate must be creative and organized, energetic, and committed to quality work. · Minimum 2 years of experience as leading Technical Director. Opera experience preferable. · Excellent human relations skills. A problem solver with positive attitude. Duties include but are not limited to: · Budgeting and hiring the crews (non-union and union) for load in, rehearsal, run and strike of 3 productions at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance. · Managing crew timetables and daily time sheets. · Planning, supervising and leading all company installations at the Theater and load outs to the Warehouse. Creating detailed load in schedules. · Analyzing and implementing the set, furniture and special effects designs for 3 productions. · Supervising the bidding and construction of all scenery, furniture, set elements, masking drapery and special effects. · Insuring compliance with safety regulations. · Communicating with designers and directors and functioning as their conduit to all tech departments. Participating in all production meetings. · Maintaining accurate documentation of changes and revisions and creating a final production rider for future rentals. · Maintaining budgets and advising on changes necessary to keep within budget during the design/build process. · Overseeing the use and storage of all equipment and materials belonging to or rented by the Company, and the return of all rented materials. Reports to the Director of Artistic and Production Planning.
